The merger of the Dallas Museum of Natural History, the Science Place and the Dallas Children's Museum has created one dynamic institution for fun, experiential science learning.

MNS is uniquely suited to provide the best in hands-on science exhibits, educational classes, planetarium shows and IMAX® films.

Educational Goals and Standards

Our educational programs, films and planetarium shows are designed to support Texas teachers and schools by providing programs unavailable in the typical classroom.

All MNS educational programs are specifically designed to meet the following standards for Texas education:

TEKS    The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) serve as the foundation of all educational programs and materials provided by MNS.

TAKS    MNS educational programs support Elementary Science test objectives that focus on the nature of science, life science, and earth science. Many of our programs support content knowledge about systems and cycles or support the development of critical thinking skills, crucial for success on the 5th grade science test.

PDAS    Because MNS educational programs support the TAKS objectives, they provide teachers with opportunities to successfully meet the new requirements on the PDAS Teacher Self-Report.

Scholarships, Programs & Partnerships

General Scholarships
MNS has access to scholarship programs and grants that may reduce or even eliminate program fees for students. While there are no grant guarantees, filling out  and returning our Scholarship Application form will place your school in our database to be reviewed first when scholarship opportunities arise.  NOTE: Since some grants or programs may be open only to certain geographic areas or other criteria, be sure to fill out the application completely.

ArtsPartners
The Museum of Nature & Science is an educational service provider for ArtsPartners. All elementary schools in the Dallas Independent School District may be eligible for school funding to participate in a program at the MNS through ArtsPartners.  If you are using ArtsPartners funding, please have your APP# when you call to book your program tour.
